Meeting Room Rental

The library offers two meeting spaces for rent: a community meeting room (capacity 200) and a smaller boardroom (capacity 25). When not in use for library programs and meetings, the meeting rooms may be reserved by citizens of Mountain Brook for non-commercial, social, and commercial events.

Community Meeting Room (capacity 150)

130 chairs are available, along with 30 two-person tables and 2 large serving tables. The group using the room is responsible for room set up and take down unless the set up fee of $25 is paid 7 days in advance of the event.

NEW RATES EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2013:
Non-commercial/civic/educational use - $50 for up to 4 hours, $50 cleaning fee or actual cost of cleaning (if assessed)
Commerical use not involving sales - $100 for up to 4 hours, $100 cleaning fee or actual cleaning fee (if assessed)
Commerical use involving sales - $125 for up to 4 hours, $100 cleaning fee or actual cost of cleaning the room (if assessed)
Social use - $250 for up to 4 hours of social use plus a $200 security deposit
Social use where alcohol is served - $250 for up to 4 hours; $500 deposit plus payment of a an off-duty uniformed Mountain Brook police officer; 30 day advance notice required; white wine, champagne, and beer containing no more than 14% alcohol only (no red wine); alcohol may only be served after library hours; alcohol may not be sold

12 rolling leather chairs around a stationary solid wood meeting table are available. 13 meeting room chairs may be requested as well.

The meeting rooms may be reserved before and after library hours, although a $10 key deposit is required. The key deposit will be refunded as long as the room key is returned within 24 hours of use.

All groups must have an adult over the age of 21 to rent a room.

Groups are subject to all library rules and regulations and must keep noise to a reasonable level in accordance with the city's noise ordinance.

The joint kitchen between the meeting rooms inlcudes a microwave, refrigerator, warming oven, coffeepot, and icemaker. The library does NOT provide coffee, condiments, cups, plates, napkins, etc.

Nothing may be attached to the walls, furnitures, doors, or ceiling tiles.

Fire code prohibits open flames (including candles).
